Client: Integrated media company serving legal, real estate, financial and business professionals Location: New York, NY Type: Fulltime (but they may consider freelance-to-fulltime if that is your preference). The Hired Guns are seeking a top-notch project manager with excellent technical chops and solid experience on the Web for our client, a leading integrated media company serving legal, real estate, financial and business professionals. She'd love to find hired guns with PMI and Six Sigma backgrounds, but she's equally interested in finding eager candidates who want to add this type of certification to their backgrounds. She'll make time for your training (FOR REAL!) This position will be responsible for managing the implementation of multiple Web-based projects as well as IT initiatives. For example, a key project is driving the magazine subscribers to the website to manage their customer care issues. You'll work between the Web team, the IT team and the circulation team to manage this effort. The position requires five or more years as a Web or IT project manager who is knowledgeable and experienced with all phases of the project life cycle. Qualifications and Required Skills: *Experience (5 years or more) working on a wide range of IT projects, including website implementations and .NET application projects. *Excellent organizational skills, process-oriented thinking, strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. *Skilled at gathering and documenting business requirements. *Ability to respond strongly and positively to challenging work and deadlines. *Ability to take leadership role in all assignments and work independently with little supervision. *Customer management skills for planning projects, resolving issues and maintaining relationships. *Team-oriented with excellent people skills. *Proficient in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio and MS Excel. *A Bachelor's degree Responsibilities: *Effectively prioritizes and accurately identifies project tasks and controls project scope, schedule and resources. *Creates and maintains applicable project documentation. *Upholds and follows the company's project life cycle methodology, from project initiation through release. *Acts as a focal point for project issues and escalates when appropriate. *Facilitates communication with other departments to meet project goals and client expectations. *Provides support and ensures follow-up with clients on all issues. *Drives build/buy decision on projects, including management and facilitation of vendor procurement process. *Other Preferred Skills and Experience: *PMP certification *Six Sigma certification HOW TO APPLY: Email a cover letter (required) with your most recent resume attached to mediapmgig@thehiredguns.com.
