Position Summary

This position is responsible for developing effective, executable, ROI-driven interactive marketing campaign plans. The Strategic Planner provides an insight-driven perspective on interactive marketing strategy and campaign execution that is based on analytics, customer research, and analysis of previous programs. The Strategic Planner reports directly to the VP, Strategy & Planning, and works closely with the agency*s account management and creative teams

Major Functions

* Possess a solid understanding of our clients' business models and current industry trends
* Develop strategic briefs/plans and project implementation documents, gain client approval, and handoff to agency account and creative teams for execution
* Provide constructive evaluation of creative briefs and campaign deliverables to ensure consistent,
on-strategy execution across all components
* Develop customer personas; leverage personas for effective online media and Web site plans
* Act as a consultative resource *subject matter expert* for our clients* interactive marketing campaigns, leveraging online media creative, SEM and SEO, and
email vehicles, and the strategic/financial implications of those choices
* Develop Web site user experience strategies, including information design, content strategy and leg-generation tactics
* Lead Web site Usability testing across all phase of site development
* Distill research and analytic findings; explain their strategic/tactical marketing implications and how they can be used to create effective and efficient
interactive marketing strategies; Report Website performance analytics and ROI modeling
* Keep senior management fully informed of account activity, challenges and opportunities

Knowledge & Skills

* Bachelor*s degree in marketing; MS in Marketing or MBA highly preferred
* 6-8 years experience in an interactive account management and/or interactive strategic planning role within an agency, or as a brand marketer for a
company*s line of business in a client environment
* Pharmaceutical marketing campaign experience highly valuable
* Proven ability to understand, synthesize, and distill marketing insights and campaign results
* A solid understanding of consumer and enterprise customer contact management strategies
* Exceptional verbal, written, analytic and project management skills
* Capable of developing solid, reasoned recommendations in a hands-on direct responsibility mode
* Team player with the necessary interpersonal skills to coordinate various agency departments
* Maturity and judgment to represent the agency in a polished, intelligent, professional manner
